Millan is a mother of one son in our kids school. She asked me if I could do their wedding shooting in 6 November. I spend about 6 hours with the lovely wedding couple on their fist day of marriage. They had their reception at a golf club an hours drive from Helsinki City.

Yesterday I met a lovely wedding couple Kaarin and Ronald with their young son in Helsinki City Finland. They are getting married 4th of July 2009. Last Thursday we had a pre-wedding shooting, and a very nice talk. They are a very nice couple, and I’m really looking forward to do theirs wedding.

On Friday I fly to Stockholm, and on Saturday I have my workshop in flash photography. It will be incredibly fun to meet all the participants and models.
I’ve created a new website for my photos. In essence, I will present my wedding pictures on the page. Glamor and boudoir photo is in the same genre as wedding photography. When I went through my photos I found some pictures I have taken on Emma. I hope you will like my new website as well as the photos below. The new website is powered by PhotoShelter. I had a test shooting with Laura and Niko who are getting married on Saturday 21 February. We checked the location and I can start to make some plans for the lightning. This shot of the couple is the one I like most. It took me a minute to set up the light.

Scenen är i tre ljusplan, förgrund, grund (kan det heta så?) och bakgrund. Alla plan är ljussatta olika. Förgrund med befintligt ljus och spill från blixt, paret med en blixt i paraply, och bakgrunden med en tredje ljuskälla, det blåa ljuset, med golvlampan. Jag tänkte jag skulle ta en liknande bild på lördag men då ljussätter jag förgrunden med en blixt. I förgrunden tänkte jag placera brudens bukett. Vi får se hur den bilden kan se ut.
I submitted one wedding photo I took at my first wedding shooting this year to SWPP society of wedding and portrait photographers monthly January competition. The picture got a gold award in the category Wedding Photojournalism. Check SWPP website for more wonderful gold awarded pictures.
2009 will be the third year as a member of Wedding Photojournalist Association, WPJA. I’m listed along with Finnish and Swedish wedding photographers. One of my pictures was awarded as top ten in the winter contest 2006. I might should submit more photos to coming competitions, it would be fun with an gold award.

After last Saturdays wedding I uploaded a wedding picture to Flickr taken in Pyhän Laurin Kirkko, Helsinge church in Vantaa Finland. 3 January 2009 of the bride couple Sanna and Ryan. More pictures in previous post. Wow what a reaction of that photo, and that is so flattering to get. First when I saw it I thought it was a looser, but after I convertet it to black and white the picture draw my attention. You might think, what about that? You might get a couple of seconds just to grab that shot, and within that couple of seconds you have to get the composition, focus and angle right. I didn’t have to think about my exporuse when I had pre-adjusted all the settings when I was in manual. Inspired of FlashFlavor Matt Adcocks article NO flash photography during ceremony… I have tried to do something similar but better. I now I think I might got it, or what do you prefer?
I’m going to have a workshop in flash photography in Stockholm and in Gothenburg end of next month. At my class I will show how I did it, but if you are a bride couple you can for sure trust I will make a even better picture next time, with your help.

I was privileged to participate as a wedding photographer last Saturday 3 January at a wonderfully beautiful Finnish American winter wedding here in Vantaa in Finland. In end of December I took some portrait photographs of the wedding couple Sanna and Ryan and daughter in the center of Helsinki. See previous posts.
Weddings was held in our Helsinge church, in Finnish Pyhän Laurin kirkko, which is located close to my children’s school, Helsinge Kyrkoby school. Wedding party was at Kulosaaren Casino, in Swedish Brändö Casino, in Helsinki. It is very nice place with good food and close to the sea. We had our wedding celebration in the same place in summer 1997.
Many thanks to the bridal couple are true and Ryan and also to the photographer Johan Rosén, who helped me with the wedding shooting during a cold winter day. Finally, I wish good luck with the move to the USA.
A couple of weeks ago, I met the couple Sanna and Ryan with their daughter Saana. Sanna and Ryan met each other at the American Embassy in Helsinki, Finland. Now, however, Ryan is stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Delhi in India.
The couple will get married in a church near where our family live in Vantaa. Helsinge Church adjacent to my daughters school. The bridal couple’s celebration will be held in Kulosaaren, Brändö, Casino in Helsinki. I and my wife had our party in the same place for now nearing 12 years ago.
Autumn has been fraught with a lot of work and it has taken longer than usual to get the pictures ready. Now finally the images are ready from Eevas and Lasse wedding as I did on October 18. There were many wonderful images taken at their lovely wedding day. Below is a selection of the over 500 photos from their wedding gallery. Yesterday I had a wedding shooting in Helsinki City Finland, and came home rather late in the night. Here are couple of wedding pictures I took from the wedding. Soon I’m leaving for Göteborg in Sweden and not for wedding phootgraphy but I will have a workhop in flash photography. I thought this pictures fit in well for the post of today.

Eeva & Lasse are getting married tomorrow in Helsinki City and I will shoot their wedding. I met this wonderful couple in the end of June this summer. We took some photos so we could get to know each other and they could also learn how I work. In same time they got some lovely engagement pictures and one of the photos ended up on their web page. I’m looking forward to be their wedding photographer for tomorrow.
As a wedding photographer I let the wedding couple choose how they want me to spend my time with them. Johanna and Jorge chose to spend an hour to take formal wedding photos to their wedding album. A month ago I had the pleasure to take some engegement portaits of a lovely couple, Johanna and Jorge, in the park of Ulriksdals Wärdshus , the Royal Castel of Ulriskdal, in Solna close to the Stocholm City in Sweden. The photo session was a pre-wedding shooting so we could get to know each other better before Johanna and Jorges wedding Friday 8th of August, see next upcoming post for some picture of their wedding.
I spend a day in Haikon Kartano to document Marianne & Jaaku’s wedding in Porvoo. Porvoo, Borgå in Swedish is located very close to Helsinki in Finland. Porvoo is a very nice old town, and worth visiting.

A month ago in July I met Marianne and Jaakku who lives in San Francisco USA in Kaivopuisto, Brunnsparken, in Helsinki City to take their engagements portraits. They are a wonderful couple and couple of days after the pre-wedding shooting I covered their wedding in Porvoo, Borgå, east to Helsinki.

After three weeks of travelling it feels wonderful to be back home to Finland to my lovely wife and three girls. Oh boy, I have missed them much.
It has been some great weeks in Stockholm and Amsterdam. Now I’m loaded with great pictures from fashion and wedding photo session. Now I have tones of pictures to edit, and I hope to get back to my clients as soon as possible with their pictures.
